What is a Lookup Value and why does it matter when creating a custom bow class?

The answer given may not be applicable in all areas of the site or may refer to features available only to some users.

The Lookup Value controls which handicap and classification data the system applies to your custom bow class. It determines how the system calculates performance data and can differ from the display name you give your class.

It's important to select the correct Lookup Value to ensure accurate handicap and classification calculations. An incorrect value will cause the system to return invalid handicap and classification data. This is particularly critical for UK archers who rely on the handicap and classification system.

Example: You could create a custom class called "Training Bow" but set its Lookup Value to "Recurve," making your training bow use the same handicap tables as a standard recurve bow for direct comparisons.
