Managing and Configuring Age Groups

This page helps you organize and maintain the age groups used to categorize archery records. You can view records by age group, edit or archive groups, and use built-in tools to keep your data clean and up to date.

Viewing Age Groups and Their Records

The main table displays all active age groups in your system. To see all score records associated with a specific age group, click the View records option for that group.

Editing an Age Group

To change the details of an existing age group:

Locate the age group you want to modify in the table
Click the blue Edit button next to that group
Make your changes and save

Archiving and Restoring Age Groups

If you no longer use an age group but want to preserve its historical data, archive it instead of deleting it.

To Archive an Age Group

Find the age group in the active table
Click the button next to it

To Restore an Archived Age Group

Switch to the Archived view
Click the button next to the group you want to restore

Deleting an Age Group

To permanently remove an age group from the system:

Click the red Delete button next to the age group
Confirm the deletion

Important: You cannot delete an age group if any records are linked to it. Before deleting, you must either reassign those records to another age group or delete them.

Age Group Tools

Use these tools to maintain data quality and add standard age groups to your system.

Merge Duplicates

If you have created duplicate age group entries by mistake, use the Merge Duplicates tool to combine them. This tool:

Consolidates duplicate entries into a single age group
Automatically updates all associated scores and club records to reference the merged group

Load Missing Age Groups

If your system is missing standard age groups defined by Archery GB or World Archery, use the Load Missing Age Groups tool to add them automatically. This ensures your system includes all officially recognized age categories.

Note on Non-Binary Age Groups

Currently, neither Archery GB nor World Archery recognize Non-Binary archers in their official rules. The standard built-in age groups reflect what is defined in WA and AGB regulations.

If you need to add a Non-Binary age group (for example, Non-Binary U21), you can create it manually. However, you must still assign a gender value of either Male or Female, and set the Lookup field (for UK classifications) to either Women U21 or Men U21 to maintain system compatibility. Golden Records will fully support Non-Binary archers once the governing bodies update their official rules.
