This page explains how to fix incorrect age group target mappings in the records system, specifically when Master age groups display as "Men" or "Women" instead of "50+".

Understanding the Issue

On the mappings page (https://archery-records.net/records/mappings), you may notice that Gentlemen Master and Ladies Master show target groups as "Men" and "Women" rather than "50+". These entries cannot be edited directly from the mappings page.

How to Fix the Target Group Display

Navigate to the Age Groups table at https://archery-records.net/records/age_groups
Locate the Gentlemen Master and Ladies Master age group entries
Check the lookup value for each age group — these are likely set to "Men" and "Women"
Change the lookup value to "Men 50+" for Gentlemen Master and "Women 50+" for Ladies Master
After updating the lookup values, you can delete the problematic link from the links table

What Age Group Links Do

Age group links serve as aliases that map one age group to another for Club Records purposes. When you link Gentlemen Master to Men, the system treats Gentlemen Master as equivalent to Men when calculating club records.

What Lookup Values Do

The system uses lookup values to retrieve the correct handicaps and classifications from the reference tables. Setting the proper lookup value ensures the system pulls data for the appropriate age category.
