Understanding the Workspace Interface

This page walks you through the main navigation and interface elements you'll use when working in the Golden Records Online workspace. Familiarizing yourself with these controls will help you move efficiently between pages and access the tools you need.

Main Menu

The Main Menu is your primary navigation tool for moving between different sections of the workspace. Some menu items are visible at all times, while others appear only when you click to open a dropdown.

To navigate using the Main Menu:

Locate the Main Menu at the top of your workspace
Click on any visible menu item to go directly to that page
Click dropdown arrows to reveal additional menu options
Select the page or section you want to access

Context Menu

The Context Menu adapts to whatever page you're currently viewing, giving you quick access to actions and information specific to that page's content. This means the options you see will change as you move through different areas of the workspace.

The Context Menu automatically updates to show relevant tools and shortcuts for your current task.

Tabs

Some pages organize information using tabs. When you see tabs at the top of a page, use them to switch between different views of the same underlying data without leaving the page.

To switch views using tabs:

Look for the tab row near the top of the page
Click any tab to display that view
The active tab is highlighted to show which view you're currently seeing
